"Don't think, get out of your head, stop planning, and just go."
— Amy Poehler
Casting directors hire the actor who commits. This class trains the instinct behind that commitment: improv, adapted specifically for voice-over character work. Over four live weeks you'll move from the core reflexes of improv into building characters that are specific, alive, and directable. The qualities that turn an audition into a booking.

Live online, small cohort, four weeks. I'll email you when dates and pricing are set.
Who it's for
Voice actors who want stronger, braver character choices — and anyone stuck over-planning their reads. No improv or stage experience required. If you can say yes and go, you're ready.
What you'll learn — the four weeks
The weeks build on each other. Each session layers a new instinct onto the last, until you're running full character scenes cold.
Week 01
Yes, And
The five instincts of improv — respond, listen, yes-and, commit, make mistakes — practiced live. You'll use the VO Improv Generator to commit to a cold character-and-line on your first instinct, no planning.
Week 02
Yes, And, and What's Next
Build a scene's base reality from your yes-ands, spot the first unusual thing, and move into "if this is true, then what else is true?" — applied to solo character reads.
Week 03
Specificity and Finding the Game
Specificity is what makes a character's world feel real: a name, a place, an object. You'll learn to find "the game" of a scene and practice it on real audio examples before doing it live.
Week 04
Heightening the Game
Everything at once — yes-and, the first unusual thing, if/then, and heightening — built into a full character scene from a picture, a description, and a setting, until it finds its own natural close.
The live tool
VO Improv Generator
Before you ever run a scene, you can practice the core skill alone. The Generator rolls a random character and a random line, cold. Read it, in character, on your first instinct. Bold choices book jobs. Safe choices don't.
Format & logistics
- Four weeks, live online — each week is an instructor-led session, not a recording
- Small cohort — enrollment is capped so everyone reads and gets coached
- No prerequisites — bring a mic if you have one; a willingness to commit matters more than gear
Next cohort dates, session day and time, and pricing will be posted here as they're confirmed. In the meantime, reach out to hold a spot or ask about a private cohort.
